Jefferson Schildgen

"Rat Pack Reborn”

Friday, October 20. 12-1pm.

Rat Pack Reborn is a fresh sound to timeless music and brings new life to the beloved Jazz hits of the 1950s and ‘60s including the greatest jazz singers of history such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and more!

Jefferson is a rising musician in the greater Southern California area. He specializes in singing jazz classics from the Great American songbook in restaurants, weddings, pool parties, jazz clubs & bars, private rooftop & corporate events.

As a young musician, Jefferson learned to play trumpet and regularly performed with his local high school orchestra, marching band, and jazz band before transitioning to guitar. He started a rock band, named Mixed Company, as the lead singer and rhythm guitar player. To improve the vocals for his rock band, Jefferson later joined his high school’s show choir. Thanks to his peers and mentors in each group he performed with, he discovered the great works of Glenn Miller, Cole Porter, and Duke Ellington. It was at this point that Jefferson knew he wanted to sing the songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and other great jazz vocalists of the 1950s and ‘60s.

In 2010, Jefferson took a break from his music and joined the U.S. Navy as an Information Systems Technology specialist. He traveled the world while deployed on numerous ships throughout his career. Over the years, Jefferson has volunteered his musical abilities whenever possible such as performing the national anthem for official ceremonies and Taps on trumpet for military funerals.

Jefferson continued volunteering with various non-profit organizations while on active duty including the Salvation Army of San Diego where he sang Christmas carols and collected donations from shoppers in a red kettle during the holiday season. Many of these songs included versions performed by Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and were instantly recognizable and brought much joy and good cheer to the shoppers.

It was this joy that inspired Jefferson to pursue music performance more seriously and began performing in Little Italy’s, Piazza de la Famiglia, where jazz resonates with the patrons of small Italian businesses. He networked with business owners and musicians until he started receiving requests to perform at local fundraisers and private parties. Jefferson’s career as a musician reached a pivotal milestone in June of 2023 when he started his first LLC, Schildgen Entertainment. Under this new business, Jefferson hires other musicians to perform with him and even plans to offer DJ services to future clients. Once retired from the military, Jefferson hopes to continue his music business full-time and continue sharing his passion for great music with audiences of all ages.
