Dame Zandra Rhodes’ iconic designs and collections have been worn by Princess Lady Diana, Freddy Mercury, Barbra Streisand and others. Her talk at the Center will focus on her work and contributions in San Diego including her work with the San Diego Opera, who commissioned her to design her first opera, The Pearl Fishers; and later, The Magic Flute. In addition, she also received commissions for work with the Cardiovascular Center, titled Go Red for Women. Her recently published book titled Zandra Rhodes: 50 Fabulous Years in Fashion, will be available for sale at the event.
