Statement:  Living close to Windensea has been a cherished gift. Every time I visit this stunning beach, new painting imagery begins to form in my mind. This piece, in particular, came to me during an opalescent sunset that took over the sky. I applied thick and expressive amounts of pigment with a palette knife, then sculpted the edges with a soft brush. The renowned surfing shack, positioned at the bottom, relates in size to the power of the sky. During these times, it's these moments that I find solace.
