American Mahjong: Beginners: 6-Week Course 

 

Mahjong is a game of luck, skill, and strategy. Learn the basics and fundamental rules of Mahjong. Classes will include handouts and time for gameplay. Mahjong originated in China and was brought to the United States in the 1930s. Studies have shown that mahjong is a great game for keeping the mind sharp and it is recommended as a means of keeping your brain in good health.

Always wanted to learn American Mahjong but can't make a daytime class? Now's your chance! This beginner-friendly evening course will teach you the fundamentals of the game, including tile recognition, the National Mah Jongg League card, game setup, strategy, and scoring. Whether you're brand new to Mahjong or looking to build confidence before joining regular play, this fun and supportive class is the perfect place to start.

Better Bridge by Farr: Beginning & Intermediate

Intermediate American Mahjong

 

Time to ‘UP’ Your Game? This class will teach you the more advanced strategies of playing American Mahjong according to the NMJL Rules and Guidelines. Small class with individual attention, and a focus on strategies of play - Charleston, Offense, Defense, Passing, Evaluating Risks, Hand Options.

Social Mahjong

 

Join a game of Mahjong! Players must know the basic rules, be able to identify tiles and have a current Mahjong card. Player level is mixed. There is no instruction given during the group play. If you have a set, please bring it.
