Thanks to all of you who participated in our 2018 La Jolla Community Center Engagement Survey. We’re excited to report that we had 275 responses, which include 39% of our members or a 14.8 percent return rate! Another 52 percent of nonmembers also completed it. We will be providing some detailed results in the weeks to come.
Here are some top down results we’d like to share:
*Demographics: More than 78 percent of respondents were women; 22 percent men
*The majority of respondents live in La Jolla Village and surrounding areas with another 15.8 percent living in the Mount Soledad area
*Fifty-three percent said they visited the center once/year, with 15 percent saying they visit once a week and 12 percent a few times a week.
*More than 54 percent of respondents said they had attended our special events/concerts, with another 34 percent participating in exercise classes and 15.5 percent listing bridge as the reason for coming to the center. In particular, the majority had attended jazz concerts and opera Wednesdays as the top events, followed by lectures or lecture series, health related classes and music appreciation.
*Among the long list of what they would like to see at the center includes approximately one-fourth of respondents who listed bridge, IPhone/IPAD and computer classes and exercise classes. In addition another 24 percent listed lunch/dinner and social events as what they’d like to see included in our schedule.
*Finally, the majority of respondents listed the newsletter and e-blasts as the way they learn about events, followed by 14 percent who said they learned about the Center and its activities from a friend.
