Why International Law Matters
For centuries, international law has been influential in shaping the form and content of the international state system. Through elaborate procedures, rules, and guidelines, international law has influenced the relationships between states in many dimensions, including state sovereignty, diplomacy, peace, war, and the human condition.
The peer-to-peer conversation will examine the complex and varied sources, traditions, customs, and functions of international law, and their significance in the international system and for humanity.

Dr. Kardaras has a strong interest in comparative socio-historical analysis that draws on the fields of history, sociology, political science, international relations, gender and global studies, and international law.
