Gain enlightenment as you explore a hidden gem of Los Angeles when we visit this unique architectural landmark. The Hsi Lai Temple (pronounced “She Lie”) and gardens is the largest Buddhist monastery in the Western Hemisphere. Located in Hacienda Heights and situated on 15 acres, the very size and majesty of Hsi Lai Temple is awe-inspiring. You’ll tour beautiful theme gardens, shrines, and more, including the Main Shrine, the central courtyard and a museum exhibiting a collection of fascinating Buddhist artifacts from different countries around the world. Enjoy a vegetarian lunch at the temple before going to our next destination, the Fullerton Arboretum, to explore their gardens, museum and heritage house. The Arboretum is a 26-acre botanical garden with a collection of plants from around the world, including a Mediteranean, Desert, Woodlands and Cultivated collection, and is located on the northeast corner of the California State University, Fullerton campus in Fullerton.
