Christopher Hollyday, a dynamic, bop-informed alto saxophonist, who plays with a warm, bright tone and frenetic style in the tradition of artists like Charlie Parker, Jackie McLean and Phil Woods returns for a third year in the series!

Hollyday initially gained fame in his teens as one of the rising "Young Lions" of the late '80s, earning accolades for his early albums including "Christopher Hollyday" (1989), "On Course" (1990) and “And I'll Sing Once More" (1992). 

Following an extended period working as a music educator (he studied composition and taught at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and completed a masters degree in jazz studies at San Diego State University), he returned to regular performing with his acclaimed 2018 “Telepathy” release.

His latest recording, "Dialogue,” was released In 2020 featuring The Telepathy Quintet.  Hollyday currently performs in San Diego, frequently with trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos, and throughout Southern California, as a jazz saxophone soloist, and with his Telepathy Quintet.
