Special Film Screening: The Audition
Go behind the scenes of one of opera’s most prestigious competitions with a special screening of The Audition, presented by the San Diego District of The Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Susan Froemke, the film follows talented young opera singers as they navigate the intense pressure and excitement of advancing from local auditions to the Grand Finals on the stage of The Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Many local singers who have performed at LJCC’s Opera Wednesdays have participated in the Laffont Competition, making this an
especially meaningful look at the journey of emerging opera artists.
